Texts: Joshua 24:14-18, and Ephesians 6:1-24

This sermon was originally preached in August 30, 2015 in Hyattsville, Maryland and includes reflections on Hurricane Katrina and the murder of Emmett Till.

It’s not enough for us to simply refrain from engaging the darkness, we have to call the darkness out. We have to expose it. We have to stand up against it.

God’s will for us is to love. To love him, to love one another, to love him with our whole selves and love our neighbor as ourselves. …Whatever we’re about, We need to be about the subversive business of love.

The storms that make their way through the world are going to churn up all manner of things that lots of people including us would rather not see , but Christ calls us to see them..
