Pentecost during a pandemic feels different and we need God’s presence more than ever. Fortunately, the only things necessary for the church are the people, any people, and the Holy Spirit. It’s tempting to sink into nostalgia and long for the past, but God wants more for us. On Easter, Jesus changed everything and the Holy Spirit came to activate that change. The Holy Spirit is here to push us and provoke us and to nudge us further than we would otherwise be willing to go.
