The Christmas Truce of 1914 during World War I reflected the real peace that Jesus brought at Christmas when God chose to be present with God’s people. We can choose the same when we take the risk and choose to be present with one another even amidst our differences. Originally preached Christmas Eve 2014 at a joint Christmas Eve service at First Baptist Church Hyattsville, Maryland with the congregation of Mission Mark 16, a West African church who rented the FBCH sanctuary on Sunday afternoons.  Their Pastor, Rev. Kob, and Todd alternate reading the Christmas story from Luke 2 in French and English at the beginning of the recording.
